Neon Sets June Release for Queer Supernatural Horror ‘Leviticus’
A new queer horror film is headed to theaters this summer.
Neon has announced a June 19 theatrical release for Leviticus, a supernatural thriller from the producers behind Talk to Me.
The Australian feature was acquired in a seven-figure deal following its Sundance premiere and is set to screen again at SXSW later this month.
A Twisted Tale of Desire
Written and directed by feature debut filmmaker Adrian Chiarella, Leviticus centers on two teenage boys whose connection turns deadly.
Joe Bird and Stacy Clausen star as star-crossed teens forced to confront a violent supernatural entity that takes the form of the person they desire most - each other.
Blending psychological horror with queer romance, the film explores longing, identity, and fear through a chilling supernatural lens.
Mia Wasikowska Returns to the Screen
Mia Wasikowska co-stars in the film, marking her first on-screen appearance in three years. She is joined by Jeremy Blewitt, Ewen Leslie , and Davida McKenzie.
Behind the scenes, producers Samanta Jennings and Kristina Ceyton of Causeway Films reunite after their breakout horror success, producing alongside Hannah Ngo. Causeway Films also financed the project with Salmira Productions.
With its buzzy festival momentum and a prime summer release slot, Leviticus is positioning itself as one of the year’s most anticipated queer titles.
