A new summer of sapphic romance is on the way.
BBC Three has released the first trailer for season two of I Kissed a Girl, the UK’s first dating series dedicated to LGBTQ+ women. The show returns with a fresh group of single contestants ready to test their chemistry - beginning, as always, with a kiss.
How the Show Works
The format follows 10 single women who are matched based on compatibility before meeting for the first time. Their introduction? A kiss designed to spark immediate connection.
From there, the couples move into a sun-soaked Italian villa where relationships are tested, heads are turned, and new attractions inevitably form.
The series mirrors the structure of its sibling show, I Kissed a Boy, but centres sapphic love stories and queer women’s experiences.
Familiar Faces Return
Pop icon Dannii Minogue returns as host, while queer content creator Charley Marlowe once again takes on narration duties.
The teaser trailer shows Marlowe riding through the Italian countryside in leather, delivering Minogue to the villa in a playful, cinematic opening that leans fully into summer escapism.
When it first premiered in 2024 on BBC Three, the show marked a milestone as the first UK dating series created specifically for LGBTQ+ women.
It went on to win Best Media Moment at the DIVA Awards and earned nominations at the GLAAD and Broadcast Awards, cementing its place in the evolving landscape of queer reality television.
Season two is set to land later this summer, with the full cast yet to be announced.
